I started, "Studio Stinson", back in 2008 with all sorts of dreams and ideas - ideas from multiple artistic genres. I could see how writing, songwriting, photography, painting, and teaching music lessons could all stem from this one Studio concept. I registered my home business (firstly focused on the teaching end) and have been working steadily on these multi-faceted goals ever since.
One element I neglected, however, was my logo. How could I represent myself in one image? The task overwhelmed me and I pushed it aside - for years. I considered hiring a graphic artist but my husband kept encouraging me to just doodle and see what I came up with. I wasn't happy with anything I came up with and I didn't feel like I could create anything that adequately depicted what I was about. Then I realized I probably wouldn't be able to truly represent myself in just one image anyway. But I did force myself to sketch. I didn't really have any ideas but a little determination kept me committed to trying. It only took a few hideous looking doodles to get the creative juices flowing and I had an actual, workable idea. And what resulted is the image you see above.
I downloaded a graphic art tool and created the first drafts of this design. After settling on a draft that I was willing to display I phoned up my "trusted advisor" and with her initial feedback and observations I began to edit and tweak. I had a final image within minutes. (Thanks buddy!) And I am thrilled with the design and all the different elements I can see within it. I am tempted to reveal all these elements but I would much rather let you consider it without any further commentary. Edits are likely to take place but it's good practice for this recovering perfectionist to just "dive in" and post it without over-thinking and being too self-critical! The process is part of the journey too. :)
